European Recruitment Tightens

Against the current economic backdrop of budget reductions, tax increases and general economic concern across Europe it is unlikely that companies in the UK and elsewhere in Europe will increase their permanent recruitment numbers. Many will sit on the side lines to see exactly how the local economy performs in the short to medium term before deciding how to tackle the medium to long term recruitment situation.

European businesses can look to take their skill sets into the Asian market by seeking partnering opportunities and managing the skill and talent flow required.

At an individual level candidates should be researching the skills shortages that are evident in Asia and be orientating their CV’s accordingly. “Just sending in a generalised CV is like tossing a pebble in a pond, it creates a few ripples but disappears below the surface very quickly. Much better to focus on what you want to do and where you have outstanding skills and experience and then prepare a highly focused CV.
